Burnet County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) provides for the safety of Burnet County residents through emergency preparedness and response. OEM serves as the coordinating point for disaster preparedness, mitigation, as well as response and recovery capabilities for Burnet County, in cooperation with the County’s various municipal governments, Emergency Service Districts, and non-profit and volunteer first response organizations.
Burnet County uses the CAPCOG Regional Notification System to notify residents about specific emergencies. Cell phone users must register at WarnCentralTexas.org to receive the notification system’s messages by phone, email, and text.
If you require emergency assistance, call 911. Do not post emergency requests or send emergency messages to County social media accounts.

WarnCentralTexas.org serves as a public portal for residents to register for our Regional Notification System (RNS) and learn about other ways their local communities distribute information in times of emergencies. WarnCentralTexas.org also is being developed as a regional preparedness resource so residents in the ten-county CAPCOG region can find useful information about how they can prepare themselves for emergencies and disasters.

The Capital Area Council of Governments and its partners are pleased to offer an emergency notification system to residents of Central Texas. Registering at WarnCentralTexas.org allows local officials to contact their communities by phone, email and text during times of disasters or public safety events.
Messages sent through the RNS are generated by the local jurisdictions participating in this program. CAPCOG does not send messages to residents.
