Buda’s emergency operations are under the auspices of the Hays County Office of Emergency Services (OES), which provides for the safety of Hays County residents through emergency preparedness and response. Buda and Hays County use the CAPCOG Regional Notification System to notify residents about specific emergencies. Cellphone users must register their phones at WarnCentralTexas.org to receive those messages by phone, email and/or text.
Information regarding emergencies is also distributed through HaysInformed.com and on the city’s website, ci.buda.tx.us. The city also disseminates information on Facebook, facebook.com/Budatx/, and Twitter, twitter.com/CityofBudaTX.
If you require emergency assistance, call 911. Do not post emergency requests or send emergency messages to County social media accounts.
WarnCentralTexas.org serves as a public portal for residents to register for our Regional Notification System (RNS) and learn about other ways their local communities distribute information in times of emergencies. WarnCentralTexas.org also is being developed as a regional preparedness resource so residents in the ten-county CAPCOG region can find useful information about how they can prepare themselves for emergencies and disasters.
Protect your family, property and self. Sign up for free to get official emergency alerts for your neighborhood by text, email, or phone.
The Capital Area Council of Governments and its partners are pleased to offer an emergency notification system to residents of Central Texas. Registering at WarnCentralTexas.org allows local officials to contact their communities by phone, email and text during times of disasters or public safety events.
Messages sent through the RNS are generated by the local jurisdictions participating in this program. CAPCOG does not send messages to residents.
