Jonestown is located at the north end of Lake Travis, 19 miles northwest of Austin. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.3 square miles, of which, 4.7 square miles of it is land and 0.6 square miles of it is water. The population was 1,834 at the 2010 census.
