The mission of the City of San Marcos Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is to build, sustain and improve the capability of the citizens to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate natural and man-made disasters.

San Marcos OEM uses the CAPCOG Regional Notification System to notify residents about specific emergencies and community information. Cell phone users must register at WarnCentralTexas.org to receive the notification system’s messages by phone, email and text.
