Fayette County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (FCOEM) provides for the safety of Fayette County residents through emergency preparedness, response and recovery. FCOEM serves as the coordinating point for disaster preparedness, mitigation, as well as response and recovery capabilities for Fayette County, in cooperation with the County’s various municipal governments, Emergency Medical Services, ten (10) Volunteer Fire Departments and nonprofit and volunteer first response organizations.
Fayette County uses Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) Regional Notification System to notify residents about specific emergencies. To receive the notification system’s messages by phone, email and text, cell phone users should register at WarnCentralTexas.org. If you have a landline, you are automatically registered. Countywide major emergency information is posted at https://www.co.fayette.tx.us/ or https://fayettecountyems.org/, and on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/FayetteTx , www.facebook.com/Fayette-County-Sheriffs-Office-Texas-Sheriff-Keith-Korenek-102937705536588 and www.facebook.com/FayetteCountyEMS/. These agencies do not monitor social media post 24/7.
If you require emergency assistance, call 911. Do not post emergency requests or send emergency messages to County social media accounts.
WarnCentralTexas.org serves as a public portal for residents to register for our Regional Notification System (RNS) and learn about other ways their local communities distribute information in times of emergencies. WarnCentralTexas.org also is being developed as a regional preparedness resource so residents in the ten-county CAPCOG region can find useful information about how they can prepare themselves for emergencies and disasters.
Protect your family, property and self. Sign up for free to get official emergency alerts for your neighborhood by text, email, or phone.
The Capital Area Council of Governments and its partners are pleased to offer an emergency notification system to residents of Central Texas. Registering at WarnCentralTexas.org allows local officials to contact their communities by phone, email and text during times of disasters or public safety events.
Messages sent through the RNS are generated by the local jurisdictions participating in this program. CAPCOG does not send messages to residents.
