The City of La Grange Emergency Management Office coordinates emergency response in the city’s area with other local government agencies to provide the earliest warnings and response time as possible for its residents. It conducts programs and activities designed to provide its residents, business owners and visitors, with the ability to prepare for, cope with, and recover from the effects of disasters. This is achieved through information and resource exchange, working with the public and private sectors, and all levels of government through the use of modern technology. La Grange’s other public safety agencies include La Grange Police Department, La Grange Volunteer Fire Department and Fayette County EMS.
La Grange uses the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) Regional Notification System to notify residents about specific emergencies. To receive the notification system’s messages by phone, email and text, cell phone users should register at WarnCentralTexas.org. If you have a landline, you are automatically registered. Major emergency information maybe posted at https://www.cityoflg.com/ and https://fayettecountyems.org/ or on the following Facebook accounts: City of La Grange — https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069036735720, https://www.facebook.com/lagrangevolunteerfiredept, https://www.facebook.com/LaGrangePD or www.facebook.com/FayetteCountyEMS/. These agencies do not monitor social media post 24/7.
If you require emergency assistance, call 911. Do not post emergency requests or send emergency messages to County social media accounts.
WarnCentralTexas.org serves as a public portal for residents to register for our Regional Notification System (RNS) and learn about other ways their local communities distribute information in times of emergencies. WarnCentralTexas.org also is being developed as a regional preparedness resource so residents in the ten-county CAPCOG region can find useful information about how they can prepare themselves for emergencies and disasters.

The Capital Area Council of Governments and its partners are pleased to offer an emergency notification system to residents of Central Texas. Registering at WarnCentralTexas.org allows local officials to contact their communities by phone, email and text during times of disasters or public safety events.
Messages sent through the RNS are generated by the local jurisdictions participating in this program. CAPCOG does not send messages to residents.
