The City of Taylor is a fast-growing community located about 25 miles northeast of the Austin metro area in Williamson County with an estimated population of 17,217 as of 2016. Taylor was founded in 1876 and has as many as 80 historic buildings in its downtown area, as well as new subdivisions and businesses that contribute to the growth.
The mission of the City of Taylor Office of Emergency Management is to provide the means for citizens to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate disasters that would affect lives and property. Taylor OEM uses the CAPCOG regional notification system to notify residents about specific emergencies that would affect its residents.
